UMA PEQUENA CADA DE CHÁ EM CABUL, por Deborah Rodriguez

Uma Pequena Casa de Chá em Cabul é um livro mediano. Tem cara de ser autobiográfico. A autora - que residiu em Cabul e teve uma casa de chá - incorpor a protagonista Sunny. A tentativa é a de trazer "aos ocidentais" um pouco das dificuldades e dos horrores da vida nessa cidade, à luz dos conflitos entre os afegânis, os ociedentais e de fundo ainda o talibã.

A trama - quase inexistente - conecta vários chavões, como mulheres com papel reduzido na vida doméstica e social, violência, tradição vs. contemporaneidade, exército vs. forças armadas etc., e o seu desfecho parece óbvio desde o início do livro.
Sobre o mesmo assunto, há váaaarias outras obras muito melhores, mas né.... Pro leitor(a) menos exigente e mais preocupado em passar o tempo, ou cujo contato com o numdo árabe se dá apenas pelas notícias da TV, está aí uma possibilidade para um mergulho inicial.

WIND / PINBALL, by Murakami

Pinball, 1973 and Hear the Wind Sing are both first and second novels ever written by japanese author Haruki Murakami, binded in this very interesting new edition under the name WIND/PINBALL.
One of the best things I found about these two stories is namely the fact that they're not as goodslashmatureslashdense as latter ones, say Kafka on the Shore, for instance, leaving chasm for improvement, as we all will acknowledge along his enriched carreer œuvres.
Nevertheless a nice read, mainly if you've never read him. Valid as an intro to his oneiric world, I won't tell you else!
